<p>If your recording workflow contains multiple songs or parts in one project you might know this: You render each part into its own file by defining regions, send these files out to be listened by your customer or colleagues, and get back a list of times to review. But now these times refer to the start of the individual file and you can&#8217;t find the exact place in your project&#8230;</p>

<p>To come around this problem in reaper, I created a unique clock that is configurable to display different &#8222;offset&#8220; times:</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Features</h3>

<ul class="wp-block-list"><li>Time since project start (the &#8222;normal&#8220; time)</li><li>Time since previous marker (if you mark parts with markers)</li><li>Time since previous region start (if you mark parts with regions)</li></ul>

<p>Additionally you may select between &#8222;Hours:Minutes:Seconds&#8220; and &#8222;Measures.Beats&#8220; for the time unit</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image"><img fetchpriority="high" decoding="async" width="1024" height="645" src="https://www.eleton-audio.de/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/BigClockExtra3x-1024x645.png" alt="" class="wp-image-544" srcset="https://www.eleton-audio.de/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/BigClockExtra3x-1024x645.png 1024w, https://www.eleton-audio.de/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/BigClockExtra3x-600x378.png 600w, https://www.eleton-audio.de/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/BigClockExtra3x-300x189.png 300w, https://www.eleton-audio.de/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/BigClockExtra3x-768x484.png 768w, https://www.eleton-audio.de/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/BigClockExtra3x.png 1065w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Download</h3>

<p>Sometimes you need to control a software application in a professional environment, even though it has no matching interface to the outside. For such cases OSC Keypress can simulate simple keystrokes on received OSC messages.</p>

<div style="height:70px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img decoding="async" width="1024" height="494" src="https://www.eleton-audio.de/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/OSC-Keypress-1-1024x494.png" alt="" class="wp-image-646" srcset="https://www.eleton-audio.de/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/OSC-Keypress-1-1024x494.png 1024w, https://www.eleton-audio.de/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/OSC-Keypress-1-600x290.png 600w, https://www.eleton-audio.de/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/OSC-Keypress-1-300x145.png 300w, https://www.eleton-audio.de/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/OSC-Keypress-1-768x371.png 768w, https://www.eleton-audio.de/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/OSC-Keypress-1.png 1102w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Features</h3>

<p>Every incoming OSC message is compared to a table of previously defined patterns. If a row matches the message, the corresponding keystroke gets send to the system. </p>

<ul class="wp-block-list"><li>Standard OSC wildcards are supported (see <a href="http://www.opensoundcontrol.org">http://www.opensoundcontrol.org</a>)</li><li>Check or ignore OSC payload data</li><li>All keys with printable characters and some special keys are supported</li><li>Ctrl, Alt and Shift modifier keys are supported</li></ul>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Applications</h3>

<p>OSC Keypress was developed to remote control Microsoft Powerpoint from a lighting console. Like that, content for a LED screen could be played back according to every scene of a recurring performance. Of course, the common solution would be some kind of media server, but the Powerpoint solution made content creation possible for everyone while also being much cheaper.</p>

<p>But of course every kind of software that can be controlled by keystrokes may be used in combination with OSC Keypress. The only limitation is, that keystrokes always are sent to the window which currently is in focus. This is no problem for a presentation software which keeps itself on top of everything else but may be an issue if this is not the case for your specific application.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Download</h3>

<ul class="wp-block-list"><li>Works on Windows 7, 8, 10 and 11</li><li>Works on 32 and 62 bit systems</li><li>Get the installer (v1.1.0): <a href="/downloads/osc-keypress/setup">here</a></li><li>Get the EULA: <a href="/downloads/osc-keypress/license">here</a></li></ul>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Changelog</h3>

<h4 class="wp-block-heading">Version 1.1.0</h4>

<ul class="wp-block-list"><li>Add &#8222;Minimize to system tray&#8220; functionality</li><li>Add some help in form of tooltips</li><li>Add functionality to import/export translation table</li><li>Add functionality to limit keypresses to specific window title</li></ul>

<p>Unlike some other DAWs, Reaper does not have the ability to give each &#8222;Take&#8220; (every time you press the record button) a unique number. Also there are some shortcomings with Reaper&#8217;s way to handle it, if you record over existing material while keeping the older version(s).</p>

<p>So, inspired by my other DAW Samplitude, I created a quite extensive script which can handle my workflow better.</p>

<div style="height:38px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Features</h3>

<ul class="wp-block-list"><li>Give every take a unique number, no matter which track, by altering track names after each recording</li><li>Name the takes on every track with this number and the track name</li><li>Crossfade items after record (instead of do a fadeout &#8211; fadein on overlapping items&#8230;)</li><li>Group items of same take (either all of them or only the ones on the same track)</li><li>Resizeable window that displays take number and turns red while recording</li><li>Some other stuff&#8230;</li></ul>

<figure class="wp-block-image"><img decoding="async" src="https://files.eleton-audio.de/gitea/Ludwig/Reaper-Scripts/raw/branch/master/TakenumberWindow/Screenshots/Takenumberwindow_stopped.png" alt=""/></figure>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Download</h3>
